GOP Suffers from Stockholm Syndrome, Ron Paul has the Cure

30 09 2007

From Stockholm Syndrome’s Wiki: “Loyalty to a more powerful abuser — in spite of the danger that this loyalty puts the victim in — is common among victims of domestic abuse, battered partners and child abuse (dependent children). In many instances the victims choose to remain loyal to their abuser, and choose not to leave him or her, even when they are offered a safe placement in foster homes or safe houses. This syndrome was described by psychoanalysts of the object relations theory school (see Fairbairn) as the phenomenon of psychological identification with the more powerful abuser. A variant of Stockholm Syndrome includes cases of abusive parents and abusive siblings in which the victim, even after entering adulthood still justifies the family abuse.”

I think it is fair to say that the GOP has been acting out of character since the neoconservatives kidnapped and raped the party and our conservative movement. The neocons have real conservatives robbing the people of Iraq for their oil, and emptying the US treasury at the same time. All of these are symptoms of Stockholm Syndrome. The Republican party is Patty Hurst at this point, the neocons have seriously diminished the thinking and reason of the Republican party. Now the party acts out of fear and a desire to please their neoconservative captors.

Ron Paul has a cure for this illness that the GOP is so obviously suffering from. The constitution if we closely follow it is a prescription to end this massive spending, murdering, and robbing of peaceful nations spree that the neoconservatives have taken our party and our nation on. We have to get the political mind of our party back. It will take some hard work and a lot of reality therapy to get the GOP back into shape but we have to kick our captive neoconservatives to the curb and not take this abuse of our conservative revolution any longer. We need to return to limited government, lower taxes, and a strong pro life agenda that starts at conception and includes respect for the life of someone who happens to be a born in another country and has material resources that we covet.

That is how I see it and I think Ron Paul is the only answer and the only cure for the Republican party at this point in our history. We have a long way to climb to get out of this hole that we have dug so we best get started by electing Ron Paul as President in 2008.
